work with 12-18 year old Indigenous boys from the remote community of Wadeye in the NT. The boys are part of a Leadership Program and you would be living and looking after 6-8 boys in the evenings. The position involves teaching them western skills as a house parent, including cooking, cleaning, homework and general hygiene. There would also be some gardening and lots of interaction with language and culture.
The position is for an individual or a couple and as it is mostly evening work, it is mainly for room and board. There is plenty of opportunity and time to work during the day with some paid employment through the foundation. You would have use of a vehicle and also access to a swimming pool and tennis court. The right applicant will have opportunity to travel to the boys community and experience Indigenous culture, downhill skiing at Mt Hotham once a week during winter and plenty of other experiences.

Will pay $20 per hour for 6 to 7 hours per day for 2 strong back packers pref male to work 4 days on a property cutting back garden and picking up fronds and debris from overgrown property. Also assisting remove rubbish from house and cleaning it, which has been treated as dump. Place being prepared for sale. Must be able to lawn mow and communicate in english.

There is also an opportunity to reside free at the property for 2 months so long as there is a capacity to keep gardens in check and maintain a pool. The property is in Cairns 20mins from the main shopping area around 5-10min drive from the beach. Require Identification and pref references. Cant be afraid of bugs and growth or worried about the ocassional tick its like a small over grown forest. Must have stront sturdy shoes and long pants as some plants have spikes. Gloves are available
