The food delivery market in Australia is about to get a shot in the arm with the arrival of UberEATS. Uber are hoping to bring their innovative mastermind to this fast growing area for start-ups.

Being able to seduce your Sunday hangover with door-to-door delivery of your favourite food is a welcome option of being a backpacker in one of Australia’s major cities. These trendy new businesses bring the delights of your favourite restaurant to the comfort and convenience of your couch!

Not only that, but these fast growing businesses are an awesome option for work in Australia. Looking for a backpacker job in Sydney, Melbourne or one of Oz’s great cities? Get on your bike and earn some money while keeping fit and exploring the city, being food delivery courier is a great option for the independent traveller.

We’ve taken a look at the selection of food courier start-ups currently operating in Australia’s great cities.

Sydney

Sydney has the full range of food delivery services, whether you hop online and order directly from Menulog or EatNow, or go with Deliveroo, who will arrive on your doorstop on a bike. You could even be totally different and get an Airtasker saving for their big euro trip to come and deliver food for you.

Delivery Hero, Foodora (formerly known as Suppertime) and even Uber are all options if you want a good meal delivered fast in Sydney, or check out Cuisine Courier for a list of takeaway delivery restaurants in your area.

Melbourne

Melbourne is a foodie’s heaven, and delivery options abound. Check out Deliveroo if you want to sample the best cuisine that Melbourne has to offer, or peruse Menulog or EatNow for a list of local restaurants and cafes, no matter where you live in Melbourne. Foodora, Delivery Hero, Menulog, and even Cuisine Courier are all available if you’re hungry in Melbourne.

Brisbane

Brisbane is Australia’s third largest city. You can order anything from Menulog, Delivery Hero, and even EatNow by accessing these sites online. You can even pay by credit card if you don’t have the cash on you. There has never been more options for someone to eat quality food without cooking or leaving the house in Brisbane.

Perth

Adelaide

The local Delivery Boyz are out and about in Adelaide, bringing you just about anything your heart desires at the click of a button. If they don’t deliver, Delivery Boyz will. If they do deliver, try Menulog and Delivery Hero.

Darwin

Hobart
