SCAM: Don’t pay for police checks or uniforms!

It’s recently been brought to our attention a scam that has been doing the rounds on job boards for some time.

The scam is straightforward. A seemingly legitimate employer requests applicants to pay an upfront fee to complete a police check. They then later request more funds for their new uniform.

Do not send any payment. This type of request is a scam.

A recent example of this type of scam comes from a fake company called “Almar Recruitment Pty Ltd”.

Working hours:

Congratulations on getting this far. Only 40% of candidates have reached this stage so well done on getting this far! You have been shortlisted for the job. You need to carry out Criminal Records Bureau (CRB/DBS) checks.

In order for us to complete your police check, we use an accredited partner with access to the National Police History database.

How long does a police check take?

It takes 2-10 business days.


A National Police Check certificate costs $50

Note: Valid police report is essential for this role.

You need a valid police report in other to work in our warehouse.
We’ll confirm by email or SMS when your police check certificate is ready.
Choose from receiving an online or hard (paper) copy in the mail.

We do not accept police check that is over 30days. Kindly get back to me so that I can give you proper guidelines on how to go about sending the payment for the DBS.

Your training shall start immediately.


There is a 1-hour lunch break timing.
You may be asked to work outside of the contracted hours including Weekends. Salary rate of $25 – $30 p.h will be paid for the late shift.
Your normal working hours will vary from week to week to meet the needs of the client.

In signing this contract you agree that your average working time is to work a minimum of 20hrs a week. ( The minimum working hours is 20hrs per week for students with less than 40hrs working visa and we offer over time up to 45hrs per week to candidates with PR ).

3. PAY: Your rate of pay is $26.50AUD p.h. and payments will be made as weekly in arrears by credit transfer direct into your bank or building society account by the last working day of each week.


The Employee is entitled to 4 weeks (20 days) paid holiday per annual. At the end of 4 years service, an extra days holiday entitlement is given – followed by a further 1days holiday entitlement for each of the next 2 years service: bringing maximum holiday entitlement to 5 weeks (25 days).


The Employee will receive their normal salary for a period of 4 weeks, in any 12 month period where a doctor’s certificate is produced after 7 consecutive day’s sickness. Payments will be less Statutory Sick Pay and any benefits due to the Employee. You will be covered by our health plan.


A Stakeholder pension scheme is provided for all employees. Details will be made available on starting employment.
