Kitchen Hand / Yard Worker / Housekeeper

Cathedrals on Fraser is a beautiful campground located on the east coast of K’Gari (Fraser Island). We are currently looking for a Kitchen Hand, a Yard Worker and a Housekeeper to fill the live-in positions detailed below. Start dates range from 24/10/24 to 12/12/24.

Kitchen Hand / Shop Assistant, duties include:
• Setting up the kitchen for food service and packing down at the end of the day;
• Preparing burgers, toasted sandwiches, fried food, coffee and milkshakes;
• Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy at all times;
• Stocktaking and restocking;
• Assisting in the shop;
• Serving customers using the POS system; and
• Reporting to the Shop Manager.
Must have Qld RSA certificate
Must have Do Food Safely Certificate https://dofoodsafely.health.vic.gov.au/index.php/en

Yard Worker, duties include:
• Cleaning amenities (toilets and showers) and camp kitchens to a high standard;
• Emptying rubbish bins and fire pits;
• Raking leaves, stick picking and general tidying of camp ground;
• Communicating by radio;
• Liaising with guests; and
• Reporting to the Maintenance Manager.
Must have manual drivers licence

Housekeeper, duties include:
• Pre-arrival and departure cleans (14 cabins, 23 permanent tents);
• Keeping laundry clean and tidy at all times;
• Assisting in the shop;
• Serving customers using the POS system;
• Stocktaking and restocking; and
• Reporting to the Shop Manager.
Must have drivers licence
Must have Qld RSA certificate

Minimum stay: 3 months

Remuneration: $32.52/hr

Accommodation: $150/person/wk for your own comfortable permanent cabin tent (double bed, 240v power and light). Shared bathroom and kitchen facilities.

Approximate hours of work: 75hrs/fortnight (8am – 4pm or 10am to 6pm, 5 days a week)

Meals: Not provided. Food can be purchased from our café and general store (groceries, bread, fruit and vegetable, meat etc.).

Mail: Delivered to the campground twice a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays).

Telephone: There is no mobile phone connection at the campground but you can get Telstra signal from a sand dune at the bottom of our driveway. There is a landline at the shop (for emergency use only) and a pay phone.

Internet: Wifi is available at the shop (not at staff accommodation). Employees receive 12GB of data per month. Additional data can be purchased if required.

Transport: Access to our campground is by 4WD only (approximately 3hrs from Hervey Bay). We can assist with organising transport from Hervey Bay for employees who do not have their own vehicle.

Please note: These positions do not offer eligibility for a 2nd / 3rd visa extension.
