Volunteer Regeneration Of Native Trees

Asche Wilsons Creek, Byron Bay

2nd Year Visa Eligible

Job Description

We are planting and maintaining native trees along Wilsons creek (approx. 25 mins drive from Byron Bay)
Help would involve weeding, some planting, and mulching with wood chip.

Flexible hours, depending on your other work commitments.

The work that we are currently doing is in response to the floods of 2022, which damaged the creek ecosystem. (The postcode is listed as a disaster affected area, so work regenerating the habitat could count for specified 88 Days work for certain visas)
IMPORTANT NOTE:
According to Department of Home Affairs website:
“For volunteer bushfire or disaster recovery work, any day on which you worked can be counted as one day.”

*If you wish to volunteer, please use the word ‘VOLUNTEER’ in your contact message to indicate that you know that this is not a paid position :)

***PLEASE READ THIS UPDATE, 30 January 2025***

As we have recently received a flood of enquiries, and don’t wish to feel like we are living in a 24/7 carpark, for the moment we are only seeking volunteers who have external accommodation offsite.
(This will likely change once some of our volunteers have resumed their travels)
