Job Description

Description: We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable workers for mandarin harvesting. This position is ideal for individuals looking to complete their 88-day farm work requirements under the Horticulture Award 2020.

Job Responsibilities:

--Harvest Sumo and Afourer mandarins carefully to maintain fruit quality.
--Follow precise harvesting techniques using specific citrus snips (rounded end and curved blade).
--Ensure fruit handling practices minimize bruising and damage.

Work Schedule:

Work commencement depends on weather conditions (fruit must be completely dry).
Typical finish by 5:00 pm daily, weather permitting.

Break Schedule:
-------------------------

Morning break: 10 minutes
Lunch break: 30 minutes (within 5 hours of starting)
Afternoon break: 10 minutes (if working longer than 8 hours)

Payment Structure:
-------------------------------

Initial hourly rate (Horticulture Award 2020) , transitioning to a piece rate based on individual performance.

Requirements:

Must supply your own Pcking Bags, Specific snips
Tractor drivers require a valid driver’s licence (experience preferred).
Forklift operators must have a current High-Risk Work (HRW) licence.

Safety and Induction:
----------------------------------

Comprehensive site-specific induction, including emergency procedures, evacuation plans, first
aid contacts, and incident reporting processes.

Onsite training for tractor operation provided where necessary.
Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Risk Assessments conducted and communicated,
covering heat stress, uneven terrain, overhead power lines, wildlife, and other relevant hazards.
Strict adherence to traffic management plans (speed limit max 30 kph).
