Job Description
Position Available: Beekeeper Assistant
Location: South Burnett Region & Surrounding areas, QLD ( Travel will be required)
Employment Type: Casual/Part-Time (with potential for extension)
A South Burnett-based commercial apiary is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Beekeeper Assistant to join our team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and has a genuine interest in sustainable agriculture and apiculture.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with hive inspections, maintenance, and management
Support honey extraction and processing activities
Participate in queen bee breeding and seasonal rearing programs
Maintain equipment and assist with transport between apiary sites
Follow best-practice biosecurity and safety procedures
Requirements:
Prior experience in beekeeping or agricultural work preferred
Sound physical fitness and the ability to work in various weather conditions
Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow instructions
Comfortable working around bees and in rural environments
This role offers the opportunity to deepen your knowledge of apiculture and work alongside experienced professionals in a growing industry. Pay will be based on experience and qualifications, in accordance with the relevant award. Training can be provided to the right candidate, with opportunities for growth within the role.
