Production Assistant

Available Shifts: Monday to Friday, 6.30am to 2pm
Location: Edinburgh
No weekends
Full training provided

About the role
The Production Assistant will join a small team at our dog treat processing and packing facility.

Key responsibilities:

-Operating filler machine.
-Fill rolls with raw meat.
-Dip rolls, sort and place onto racks.
-Put racks onto trolley ready for the oven.
-Inspect prepared rolls and report quality issues to the Supervisor.
-Wash and sanitise processing equipment and work area.
-Assist with packing finished products.

The candidate:

-Must love dogs!
-Have experience in a fast paced food production or manufacturing environment, preferably in a meat processing role.
-Willing to work on rotation in the production area.
-Proficient machine operation skills or the willingness to learn.
-Practical knowledge of food safety, hygiene, sanitisation and quality standards.
-Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
-Initiative, attention to detail and time management skills.
-Ability to handle raw meat products.
-Ability to work in a cold and hot environment (when ovens are in operation).
-Physically fit and able to lift up to 15KG.
-A Certificate II or above in Meat Processing or relevant qualification is highly regarded.
-Q Fever vaccination or willingness to participate in the vaccination process.
-Have on steel capped footwear.
