JOB DESCRIPTION
2 positions – Broodmare Manager & Stud Hand – located at Southern Farm Estate, Innisplain. ELIGIBLE FARM WORK FOR VISA. Animal care, horse feeding & breeding.
Southern Farm Estate is located amongst several well known thoroughbred horse studs at Innisplain, Queensland. Could be a second part-time job for a local horse person employed at a nearby stud in Gold Coast hinterland.
Interesting & flexible part-time or casual position managing thoroughbred broodmare band of horses for breeding season. Involves care, feeding, visual inspection and identifying when mares in heat exhibiting signs that are ready to be served. Recording mare cycles. Coordinating transport and walk-ons to stallion. Possibly handling stallion at breeding destination (subject to experience).
Stud Hand to handle young horses & previous seasons foals - caring & feeding. Educating young horses to lead & halter. Stand foals for Vet & Farrier services. No breaking-in required or training to ride required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Must be experienced with breeding and/or handling young horses. No formal qualifications required. However, must be currently or previous employed performing the required tasks at another stud farm. Overseas experience acceptable.
Position/s are part-time only for 2-3 hours for 2-3 days per week. Could be second job for extra income. Flexible hours to suit. Able to travel independently to and from Innisplain, South-East Queensland, with Drivers Licence and have access to use reliable vehicle for transport.
