Care For A Beautiful Soul By A Sunshine Coast Lake – More Than An Au Pair Role

We are looking for a caring, patient, and loyal person to live in and support Prue, a 77-year-old woman with the biggest heart.
She has dementia, which means her memory is short, but her spirit is bright.
She recently lost her husband, yet she radiates warmth, positivity, and love.

Prue lives in Twin Waters on the Sunshine Coast, Australia, in one of the most beautiful gated communities overlooking a serene lake and near a beach.
Her days are best spent walking, gardening, chatting, and enjoying a quiet drink as the sun sets over the water.

What she needs most is company – someone who will be present, kind, and share life with her.

What You’ll Be Doing: -

Daily walks, fresh air, and time in the garden.
Accompany her at the Twin Waters golf driving range where she enjoys hitting some balls, and for coffees and meals at the local Twin Waters café’s.
Maybe play or sing along with her as she has recently taken back up the guitar
Sharing meals, cooking together, or helping prepare food.
Light household support to keep things comfortable.
Outings and adventures – a car and spending allowance are provided so you can take her to enjoy the Sunshine Coast.
Keeping her connected with her friends and family by driving her social coffees and lunches which you can choose to join in or just get her there and back

Most importantly: being a warm, caring companion.

You’ll also have ample time for your own projects and connections – Prue enjoys TV, relaxing, and quiet moments, which gives you space to rest, study, or pursue personal interests.

About You
We’re not asking for qualifications – the most important thing is your heart.
You’ll be a perfect fit if you are:

Compassionate, kind, and genuinely enjoy being with older people.
Patient and understanding of memory loss.
Loyal, trustworthy, and dependable.
Cheerful, positive, and able to bring lightness into each day.
Present – happy to sit, talk, listen, or simply share a moment.
Experience in some type of care experience is preferable but not essential for the right personality

What Makes This Role Special
✨ 600 weekly pay, plus full accommodation and meals.
✨ Private accommodation by the lake (valued at 500/week) with all meals included (valued at 200/week).
✨ Together, that’s an equivalent 1,300 take-home value each week.
✨ Car provided for day trips and outings.
✨ Spending allowance to take Prue out and about.
✨ Time off in paradise – every 7 days on, you’ll enjoy 3 days off staying in Gerard’s beautifully renovated studio beachfront apartment at Alexandra Headland.
The apartment is located in the Breakfree resort where you can enjoy facilities such as the huge lagoon pool, Jacuzzis and gym.
The apartment will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival and on your departure so you don’t have to worry about a thing on your days off. The apartment usually rents out for around 200/night which you can enjoy as part of the package


✨ A deeper experience – unlike childcare, this role is about presence, companionship, and love.

The hours are more than a typical au pair, but the work is gentler and deeply rewarding.

This is an opportunity for 3 to 6 months (longer if it feels right). Start asap but we are flexible for the right person

Prue’s son, Gerard, loves his mum deeply but works full-time. He wants someone big-hearted and loyal to be there for her when he can’t. You’ll always have his support if you need guidance or just someone to talk things through with.

The more love and kindness you bring to Prue, the more she will reflect back – she doesn’t have a harsh bone in her body. She is active, generous, and endlessly warm. This role is about giving care, but it is also about receiving the gift of connection with a beautiful woman who will enrich your life.
