Job Description
We're looking for a head chef who thrives on responsibility, takes initiative, and has a real passion for quality farm-fresh produce. A paddock to plate chef to join our team for a busy fun summer. Weddings, music festivals, and local markets are all part of what we do. With a big kitchen garden, our own cider production, and fields of sunflowers, the setting is something else.
The restaurant is about to open, so the kitchen will be up and running, not just for events, but for regular service too.
There are plans to open more days during the week, and you'll have the freedom to help shape this from the ground up. We're looking for someone confident, capable, and ready to get stuck in.
We're located in a beautiful part of Tasmania, close to the cute seaside town of Penguin and not far from Cradle Mountain.
There is rustic caravan and renovated school bus provided for accomodation on farm if desired.
Hospitality experience is essential. There is an element of farm and garden work and as we're on a farm we can sign off for 3 or 6 months farm work. There is plenty of beautiful pictures of the farm on our instagram and Facebook pages.

Our farm rests again the backdrop of the stunning Dial Range just south of Penguin. Our story starts over 11 years ago where we set out to promote ethical farming and become Tasmania's first free range commercial pig farm. We supported rare breeds selling free range pork products into some of Australia's finest restaurants. The farm and business has now developed and evolved into something much larger than we ever anticipated. In addition to an on farm butchery it has an on farm restaurant and a new barn for functions and events. This combined with beautiful gardens and a 1000 tree cider orchard has made it become both a beautiful event space and place to visit.
The farm has had a focus on not only producing ethical produce but engaging the community in the story behind the produce. This is why the farm regularly has open days and farm tours.
