Join Our Events & Functions Team!
We’re looking for friendly, reliable hospitality pros (or eager learners!) to help deliver amazing experiences in our pub and function spaces at RMIT University. Be part of a supportive team, helping run events and functions smoothly while keeping guests happy.
You’ll need:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A current RSA certificate
Flexibility for daytime, evenings and Saturdays (Most Sunday's off)
Professional appearance and polite, approachable manner
Experience in events, functions, or food & beverage is a plus — or a strong willingness to learn

Established in 1857, during the heady days of the Victorian gold rush, The Oxford Scholar Hotel has for more than 160 years served Melburnians at the northern-end of Swanston Street.
In 2019 ‘The Scholar’ was redeveloped, refurbished and re-imagined as a bar and eatery, situated in the heart of the recently transformed RMIT City campus.
With the creation of a series of new bar, dining and event spaces, The Scholar offers a relaxed, comfortable and lively experience for its patrons. We feature a wide selection of both local and international craft beer, while our menu selections are built upon locally sourced and fresh produce, offering innovative, seasonal dishes and pub classics.
Designed with inherent flexibility in mind, and boasting significant increases in capacity, a multitude of functions are able to be staged with the assistance of experienced, attentive and dedicated event staff.
