We are a medium sized Irish owned and run Country Hotel with 80 rooms and we would like to expand our team , we have 1 position open for a Chef, ideally level Demi Chef de Partie.
Also please do not apply unless you already have a working visa, there is no sponsorship offered at this current time. We could potentially look at that later for the right person as we are approved sponsors and if we have long term visibility on future staffing requirements.
Fluent English ESSENTIAL as dealing with an all English-speaking team in a fast pace environment.
This job counts for the 2nd or 3rd year visa due to the postcode 6426 and it's a great way to save lots of \. The position will have a good 6 months work, so ideal for regional work for either 2nd or 3rd year visa or just someone who would like to have a well paid job where they have no bills to pay to save . There is work available for the 2025 Christmas period, but if you have plans, we can work around that provided we know when you apply.

Minimum 3 years cooking experience required with proof of same.
Reporting to the Head Chef, once inducted, you need to be able to line cook a basic pub menu anything from 30 to 80 plates over a 2 & 1/2 hour service. You need to be experienced with cooking proteins, in particular flame grilled steaks. The day time is used for mise en place as we make pretty much everything in house. We are very proud of our food and get wonderful google reviews.
Anything else you can bring to the table is a plus.
Ideally already have the updated hygiene training, but it will only take you about 2 hours to complete otherwise.
You will also be required to participate in the daily and weekly cleaning tasks along with everyone else on the team.
This is not a job for someone who thinks he or she is Gods gift. We are a small team and there's no room for big egos.

We fall under the Award for Hospitality Industry (General) Award(MA000009) with award salaries related to the level of training and experience the candidate has (between cook level 2 , 3 or 4) and the usual penalty rates for late work between 7pm and midnight, Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays. Plus standard Superannuation.
Live in position. Accommodation and 3 meals a day are provided for FREE.

Nice roster with at least 1 x 4 day weekend off a month as well as other days off in between for regular rest. Split shifts are almost never and would be an absolute emergency situation.

We are situated 4 hours from Perth, and there is a daily train service that runs between Perth-Kalgoorlie if you don't have a car.
