Job Description
We here at Darling Downs Hatchery have a proud history of delivering high quality poultry and products to Local and National Produce Agencies around Australia. Located near Ipswich, an opportunity currently exists for a locally based Poultry Farm Worker to be considered for a casual role with potential for an immediate start.
Currently only 38 hours (5 days per week) available, with opportunity to grow for the right person.
Your duties will include:
Ensuring birds have enough food and water
Ensuring birds have access to food and water
Walking through the yard and pens to Identify sick or injured birds
Utilise proper bio security standards when entering and exiting pens, sheds and cages
Assist with egg collection, washing and sorting
Assist with putting eggs in cartons
Conduct maintenance on the cages, pens and yards
Conduct maintenance on watering/heating system if needed
Control brooder box lighting to meet bird needs
Maintain high standards of animal welfare
