Head Chef

POSITION: Head Chef. Minimum of two years experience as a sous chef in a restaurant / hotel environment required. Position available for an immediate start.

The opportunity provides consistent work, regular weekly income, with clean, comfortable accommodation available.

Good spoken English language and written communication skills are essential, as are skills and experience relevant to the role. You must be able to work cohesively in a team-based environment, as well as being able to work independently.

RESTAURANT: Cascades Restaurant (40+ seats) is open for breakfast and dinner every day (including most Public Holidays) and offers a casual dining experience. We cater for corporate and leisure customers, and groups.

HOURS: Minimum of 38 hours per week. Generally 3 x breakfast shifts and 6 dinner shifts per week. Weekend shifts are a regular component of the roster. Some split shifts (breakfast and dinner) are involved.

PAY: The position is classified as Level 6 under the Hospitality Industry (General) Award. The casual hourly rates of pay are Monday - Friday 38.35; Saturday 46.02; Sunday 53.69; Public Holidays 76.70. Shift allowances for early starts / late finishes apply.

WHV: Please note that Hospitality in Goondiwindi, 4390 is currently NOT eligible for 88 days WHV extension.

FOR COUPLES: An Hospitality All - Rounder position will soon become available in Cascades Restaurant (kitchen hand and breakfast waitress) and Best Western Ascot Lodge (housekeeping). Experience in hotel reception / reservations would be advantageous.

NO TRANSPORT REQUIRED. Short walk to work, and an easy walk to town for supermarket, coffee shops, cinema, etc. Bicycles available for staff use.

ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE for a reasonable weekly rent (150 - 200 per week for a single person, or 250 - 300 per week for couples, depending on bedroom size and features). Your own air-conditioned bedroom in a modern, 3 bedroom, fully furnished home shared with another staff member. Everything supplied. Rent includes electricity and wi-fi. The house is fully security-screened for your general safety. Please note that there is a “no parties” policy for the house.

POOL ACCESS: Access to the hotel pool is available during your leisure time.

GYM: There are a number of well-equipped gyms in town, as well as an extensive network of bike / walking pathways. A beautiful 18 hole golf course and 50 metre swmming pool are other activities that are available.

TOWN FACILITIES: Everything you need is available in town.
Coles, Foodworks, KFC, McDonalds, Subway, Red Rooster, K-Mart (K-HUB), hospital, chemists / pharmacies, doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, massage therapists, coffee shops, hairdressers and beauty salons, hotels and restaurants, cinema, and retail and fashion stores.
