The Opportunity
The Innamincka Hotel is one of Australia’s most iconic outback pubs — a true destination venue on the edge of Cooper Creek. We are seeking an experienced Head Chef / Kitchen Creative to lead our kitchen and elevate classic pub meals into memorable outback dining experiences.
This role suits a chef who values quality, creativity and consistency, and understands the realities (and rewards) of cooking in a remote environment.
The Role
Design and deliver a high-quality pub-style menu using fresh, seasonal ingredients
Bring creativity to classic dishes with a “from scratch” approach
Lead, mentor and inspire kitchen staff in a positive, professional environment
Plan menus, ordering and stock with remote supply and seasonal demand in mind
Minimise waste and manage food costs effectively
Work with management on events, group catering and special occasions
Maintain WHS and food safety standards at all times
About You
Experienced chef with strong leadership and organisational skills
Passionate about food, people and hospitality
Calm, adaptable and solution-focused
Confident working autonomously in a remote setting
Requirements
Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent experience)
Food Safety / Food Handling certification
Proven experience in commercial kitchens
