About Us
Hermannsburg is an Aboriginal community 130 kilometres west of Alice Springs. It has a population of about 600 people. Finke River Mission operates one of two general stores in Hermannsburg.

The store operates Monday to Friday and half day Saturday from 9.30am to 5.00pm. The store provide groceries, general goods, takeaway food and coffee.

The Finke River Mission is looking for someone to work as a cook. The kitchen is responsible for providing hot meals and take away food to our customers. It will be a full-time position with the hours being 7.15am – 3.45pm Mon – Fri.

Duties
• Menu plan.
• Manage, order and rotate stock.
• Be able to produce healthy hot meals in addition to some takeaway food.
• Be able to ensure the kitchen is kept to a high standard of cleanliness.
• Be able to follow directions of management as well as government officials, such as NT Government Health Inspectors.

Other conditions
• Ability to be flexible with work hours.
• Food handler certificate.
• Accommodation is fully furnished and provided at a minimal cost with utilities included.
