About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Assembler to prepare, assemble, test, package and dispatch machinery as scheduled by the Operations Manager.

Your primary role is the assembly of products, with additional responsibilities of maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe production environment. You will be required to undertake warehousing tasks to keep the warehouse organized and 5S-aligned.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly – Main Focus
Assemble machinery and components using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment
Follow drawings, instructions and specifications accurately
Conduct quality checks to ensure all products meet Vortec standards
Perform basic testing and troubleshooting during the build process
Prepare, package and dispatch completed orders as scheduled

Production & Workflow
Maintain a clean, organized workstation
Work collaboratively with team members to support smooth production flow
Follow all established assembly procedures, safety protocols and quality processes
Meet daily/weekly assembly targets while maintaining high workmanship standards
Respond to changing priorities and timelines set by the Operations Manager

Continuous Improvement & Safety
Participate in training and development activities
Contribute to improving systems, processes and workplace organization
Maintain strong safety awareness and comply with all manufacturing safety guidelines

Warehousing Duties
Keep warehouse areas clean, organized and compliant
Warehouse tasks as and when needed to maintain smooth operations

What We’re Looking For

Experience & Skills
3+ years’ experience in assembly, mechanical work or similar roles
Strong mechanical aptitude and confidence using tools and equipment
Stable work history (3+ years in previous roles) showing reliability and commitment
Highly organised, goal-focused and able to follow instructions accurately
Adaptable, meets timelines and handles shifting priorities well
Values systems, structure and accountability in daily work
Strong work ethic, punctual and dependable
Excellent attention to detail and pride in workmanship
Basic computer literacy (or willingness to learn job-specific systems)
Proactive, willing to learn and eager to improve skills
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
