Job Opportunity: Farm Hand & Equine Care Assistant
Location: Alison / Jilliby
Position: Full-Time / Part-Time
About the Role
Lustre Lodge is seeking a reliable, hardworking individual to join our team. This role is perfect for a "jack-of-all-trades" who enjoys the variety of outdoor farm work, takes pride in maintaining equipment, and has a genuine passion for equine welfare.
Key Responsibilities
• Horse Care: Daily feeding, rugging, grooming, and monitoring horse health.
• Property Maintenance: Fencing repairs, mowing, weed control, and general "handyman" tasks.
• Vehicle & Gear Care: * Cleaning: Regularly washing and detailing farm vehicles, horse trailers/floats, and ATVs.
• Basic Maintenance: Checking oil, fluids, and tire pressures; grease points on machinery; and reporting any mechanical issues early.
We’re Looking For
• Experience: Prior experience handling horses is preferred but not essential.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Comfortable with basic tool use and preventative maintenance for vehicles.
• Attention to Detail: Someone who notices a dirty radiator or a low tyre before it becomes a problem.
• Physical Fitness: Ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Driver’s Licence
