Job Description
Whalesong Cruises is looking for their new superstar team for whale season!
We are currently recruiting for our 2026 whale season which runs from late June - mid-late October. Please note this does not count towards working Visa days.
About the job:
You get to work on the water every shift, while also getting to experience whales in one of the best whale watching places in the world. You will be interacting with guests, while being able to take advantage of interacting with and watching the humpback whales, that come to socialise, relax and play in the world's first whale heritage site.
You will be working on a purpose built, stable, spacious boat, preparing and serving food/drink, cleaning down the boat, restocking, taking photos and videos, answering guest questions, making life long friends with your team all while being able to snatch some time to watch and interact with the whales yourself.
PLEASE NOTE: we have hired all bar one super star team member and we strongly urge any German speaking people to apply. Bonus points if you also speak French!
The role would suit someone travelling Australia as this is seasonal. We may extend the period for the right person.
OR
Office staff member/allrounder who is able to help out on the boat as well as taking care of office on set days (Training provided)
About you:
You will ideally;
speak a second language other than English.
Be comfortable interacting with people
Be highly adaptable
Be able to work in a fast paced high volume environment
Have/be willing to obtain RSA and Safe Food Handling
Be flexible with hours
You MUST be confident to work on the water, not be prone to seasickness
Be able to learn quickly and follow direction
Be reasonably fit.
Have good communication skills
