Job description:

We’re looking for an experienced Accommodation & Hospitality Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy guest house.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who loves working in a multicultural environment, enjoys meeting travellers from around the world, and takes pride in maintaining high standards of service, cleanliness, and guest experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee reception, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest service operations.
Manage and train a team to deliver excellent customer service.
Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and problem resolution with professionalism.
Ensure smooth daily operations and compliance with health and safety standards.
Manage online booking platforms (Booking.com, Hostelworld, Expedia, etc.) and maintain strong guest review scores.
Assist the owners with business development and operational planning for the 2026 expansion.
Support marketing and community engagement to promote Townsville as a backpacker destination.
Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years of experience in hostel or budget accommodation management within Australia.
Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality or Business Management.
Strong leadership, organisation, and multitasking skills.
Demonstrated success in improving guest satisfaction and operational performance.
Familiarity with international backpacker culture and traveller expectations.
Experience with property management systems such as Cloudbeds or similar.
Desirable

Knowledge of Townsville’s tourism market or North Queensland visitor economy.
Experience in social media or digital marketing for accommodation providers.
Additional language skills ( French, Spanish, Italian or Portuguese highly regarded).
