Pizza Chef

We are seeking an experienced and reliable Pizza Chef to join our high-volume hospitality venue on Rottnest Island. This is a hands-on role suited to a professional who thrives in fast-paced service, maintains high food standards, and works well within a structured kitchen team.

This is a casual contract position, with shifts allocated based on operational needs and seasonal demand.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook pizzas to a consistent, high standard
• Manage dough preparation, proofing, stretching, and portion control
• Maintain quality control across all pizza section operations
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the pizza section
• Work efficiently during high-volume service periods
• Collaborate with Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain service flow

Requirements
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of pizza dough fermentation and baking techniques
• Experience working with deck or conveyor ovens (preferred)
• Ability to perform under pressure in a busy environment
• Strong time management and communication skills
• Valid Australian working rights
• Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
