Hostel Reception/front Desk

Hey There

Port Macquarie Backpackers is looking for a couple of new crew members to join the team.

Our hostel has a chilled out vibe, offering good times and great people and our current staff are an awesome bunch of backpackers.
Missing home? Everyone who stays says this place feels like home!

This will be a cruisy gig where you will have the opportunity to make new connections and hang out with other travellers everyday...while getting paid!

You might even meet you new best friend, next travel buddy or soul mate! Why not make us part of your next adventure?

We will have 2 positions available.

Front Desk - Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Front Desk - Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Accommodation, wages, commission on tour sales and other hostel benefits are on offer.
You will be doing check-ins, checkouts, reception duties, socialising with guests and helping out where needed.

Ideally we are looking for someone outgoing and energetic that loves to meet and talk to new people, make fast connections and have a great time.
There is a lot of extra money to be made by selling tours on the side but you need to be confident and make quick connections with guests to do this.

Must Have’s:

Good English communication skills
Confidence with people and ability to make fast connections
Prior experience appreciated but not needed, as training is provided
Reliability and able to follow instructions unsupervised
Team player & be happy to work alone
Must be willing to work days, nights, whenever needed; this is not a 9 to 5 job
Minimum stay 3 months

You get free use of all hostel facilities too! Port Macquarie is a beautiful coastal town with shops, bars & cafes & a ton of outdoor activities to keep you occupied in your free time all within easy walking distance from the hostel.

There is also other work going around town in restaurants, café’s and shops if you’re looking for extra work to cash up, ready for more travel.
