Chef/cafe Cook - Great Ocean Road

Icaro is a specialty café, elixir bar, and coastal restaurant located in Apollo Bay on the Great Ocean Road. We're a community-rooted venue built around real food — wholefood, seed-oil-free cooking, ceremonial cacao, adaptogenic elixirs, specialty coffee, and a wine bar that comes alive on Friday and Saturday nights.

We're a six-day-a-week operation (closed Wednesdays) with a loyal local following and a steady stream of Great Ocean Road visitors. The food here means something — and we're looking for someone who gives a damn about what they put on a plate.

THE ROLE
You'll be working as a Café Cook running our breakfast and brunch kitchen — a tight, focused menu built on fresh, wholefood ingredients with no seed oils, no shortcuts, and a genuine commitment to quality.

APOLLO BAY / GREAT OCEAN ROAD LOCATION
Hours — breakfast and brunch shifts - 30-40 hours per week based on seasonality.
Days - 5 days per week
Service 7:30am – 3:00pm daily | Fri & Sat evening available too

OUR MENU
Our brunch menu is built from scratch using quality, fresh ingredients. Highlights include:
• Chilli scramble with goat feta, chimichurri & seeded dukkah
• Smokey hash stack with hollandaise & pickled banana chilli
• Nourish bowl — sweet potato hummus, seasonal veg, poached egg
• Chicken congee with broth, chimichurri & garden herbs
• Avocado toast, mushroom omelette, French toast & more
• Fresh sides made in-house: house hash browns, chimichurri, sweet potato hummus

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• Solid café kitchen experience — you know your way around a busy brunch service
• Someone who cares about food quality, not just speed
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, close-knit team
• Organised, clean, and consistent under pressure
• RSA / Food Handler cert an advantage but not essential
