We’re looking for an experienced Public Area Cleaner who takes real pride in the details.

This role is not just about ticking off a cleaning checklist. We need someone who notices the things others miss, takes ownership of their areas, and genuinely cares about keeping the property looking sharp, clean, safe, and well-presented at all times.

You’ll be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our public spaces, including bathrooms, common areas, corridors, stairwells, lifts, entrances, and other guest-facing areas. The right person will be experienced, self-motivated, and confident enough to work independently while still following clear procedures and instructions.

About the role

We’re looking for someone who:

Has previous professional cleaning experience
Has a strong eye for detail and high personal standards
Takes pride in presenting clean, fresh, well-maintained spaces
Can work unsupervised and stay productive throughout the shift
Understands cleaning chemicals, safe handling, and correct usage
Knows the right tools and equipment needed to do the job properly
Can identify issues, report them, and suggest better ways to work
Follows instructions, checklists, and workplace health and safety procedures
Is reliable, punctual, and consistent
Has initiative and does not wait to be told every small task
What we need from you

You will be expected to:

Clean and maintain all assigned public areas to a high standard
Keep bathrooms, common areas, floors, walls, glass, and high-touch surfaces clean and presentable
Use chemicals and cleaning equipment safely and correctly
Restock supplies where required
Identify maintenance, safety, or presentation issues and report them
Work efficiently without cutting corners
Follow daily cleaning schedules and any additional instructions from management
Help us improve the standard of cleanliness across the property
The person we want

This role would suit someone who is a bit of a clean freak in the best possible way.

You are the kind of person who notices fingerprints on glass, marks on walls, dusty corners, messy bathrooms, and areas that need extra attention before anyone else does. You do not walk past problems. You take pride in fixing them.

We want someone who knows what good cleaning looks like and can help us lift the standard across the property.

Experience required

Previous experience in commercial cleaning, hotel, hostel, hospitality, or public area cleaning is preferred.

Experience with cleaning chemicals, equipment, bathrooms, high-traffic areas, and WH&S procedures will be highly regarded.
