No work experience? No problem. We're looking for grads who are enthusiastic, confident and comfortable talking with anyone at any level. It's not a sales role, but a multi-faceted role that requires some phone work, some written work, a lot of organisation and a lot of persistence.
You are in control of all aspects of making a conference come together, from the research of the program to confirming the speakers. At the end of your project you will have work that is tangibly yours.
Day to day, you will conduct research with senior industry leaders to develop conference agendas, invite and confirm speakers, write copy for the brochure and web, work alongside the events team and hold P&L responsibility for each project. Like Journalism, this involves some degree of cold calling and an ease for talking to people you do not know.
This is not an event management position.
What we are looking for:
A recent graduate of Journalism, Communications, Media, Arts, Commerce or equivalent
An exceptional multitasker who can manage competing priorities and work independently under pressure
A quick study; someone who is able to translate ideas into commercially viable programs
A knowledge of commercial and business processes
Exceptional communication skills
The ability to take on board feedback and a willingness to constantly improve
Confidence to use those skills to talk to anyone of any level
Time management and the ability to stick to tight deadlines
