You must be able to ride a horse and have some large animal experience for example working with cattle.
Initially we will offer a trial period of three weeks of meals and accommodation in exchange for 20 hours per week of your time doing household duties and some farm duties.
After the three week qualifying period we will look to increase your hours to a total of 30 hours per week and will be prepared to offer assistance with second year visa applications after the three week qualifying period for the right applicant. Therefore the package will be 30 hours per week including food/accommodation and a wage of $300 per week.
Work will include:
- Preparing meals as needed
- Household cleaning
- Feeding dogs, chickens and birds
- Assisting my husband with work around the farm when you are not busy in the house (fencing, feeding cattle etc)
- Other work as required at the time
We live on a cattle station 5 hours from Cairns, there is no mobile reception at the property. There is NO internet available at the property.
We offer full accommodation in our home plus all your food and some internet access (limited due to satellite).
You will need your own vehicle.
The nearest town is 3.5 hours drive away so this is a remote location.
You need to be flexible and not break any rules or requirements applicable to a working cattle property, particularly where occupation health and safety issues are concerned.
The farm work is hard physical work in hot conditions.
