Gardening Help Wanted - Labour Exchange 3 hours per day - Stay in Australia's #1 Beach Town!
Dear backpacking friends,
We do hope that you are enjoing your adventures backpacking in Australia...but if you haven't been to Yamba yet - then you're really missing out! You see, our sleepy seaside hamlet in northern NSW was named Best Town in Australia by a panel of tourism and travel experts, and once you see our stunning beaches and incredible surf breaks, you'll know why.
Yamba is in Northern NSW, just a couple of hours from iconic Byron Bay - but without the maddening crowds, both in and out of the surf! Its a very beautiful place ...the lifestyle here is idyllic.
You don't have to go far to experience the water, either. In fact, your accomodation is waterfront, and you can watch the sunrise over the mighty Clarence river from your living room! Your two bedroom, fully self contained apartment has views directly down the Clarence river and you can watch the waves of the Pacific crash into the bar as the river meets the sea...
The apartment also features wifi and internet televison, a fully set-up kitchen and private bathroom, as well as access to the saltwater pool (with waterslide!). Pushbikes and surfboards can be organised for you as well.
We are looking for singles (there are 2 seperate bedrooms in the apartment) or couples who want to enjoy all the experiences Yamba has to offer, in exchange for three hours labour a day. We are in the process of creating a permaculture garden/food forest on our block, and require assistance with general gardening, planting, building garden beds (including bricklaying for raised beds), general yard maintence, setting up a chicken run, occasional household duties etc. This position is ideally suited for surfers, as we could get up for the early surf then work in the garden from 10am to 1pm or thereabouts.
Please note that our house is strictly vegetarian and smoking or alcohol is not permitted onsite.
Some meals might be included but it is best that you plan to cook for yourself. No meat, fish or eggs are to be taken into the house or cooked. To reduce odors no onion or garlic is to be cooked.
On our spiritual journey we have decided to live this way of life and our home is our sanctuary. So it is not a party house. We are not at all judgmental and you can do as you wish , diet and otherwise but please respect this space.
The length of stay is negotiable for the right people --- there is certainly plenty of work to be done!
Wwoofers or backpackers welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you and sharing this amazing part of Australia with you and show you around!
Joel and Karen
