Weekend live-in Caretaker
Part time position (38hrs over 3days & 3 nights) available for a live-in Caretaker atthe
Tolga CountryLodge/Tolga Backpacker Working Hostel, located near Atherton on the AthertonTablelands (1.5hrs drive from Cairns).
The position is an opportunity for an ambitious, capable manager looking to rapidly gain management experience and progress their career in the hospitality industry. The
successfulapplicant is provided with an on-site residence during their shift
(Friday morning to Monday morning) and will work closely with the Weekly Caretaker.
TheCaretaker’s role is to form part of the Management team and manage all areas of the operation during the weekend shift.
The Tolga Country Lodge is a Backpacker Working Hostel, providing accommodation and assistancefor backpackers to find paid work, oftento gain their 2nd year Australian working visa. The Lodge has an approximatecapacity of 130 tenants spread over multiple sites.
·Daily management responsibilities to ensure profitable and smoothoperation
·Supervision of staff and tenants
·Managing bookings, work schedules and worker transport, tenant services & issues
·Manage inventory and equipment / vehicles, refueling
·Manage the security of the lodge, its satellite residences and its tenants
·Manage customer (farm employers) requirements
·Allocate tasks and priorities, coordinate resources, and assist with business development and marketing strategies
Key skills required:
The Caretaker must have experience in customer service and be able to take a strategic overview and plan ahead to maximise customer satisfaction and operational efficiency in a dynamic environment
·Capable of managing difficult situations and set an example for staff to deliver a high standard of service and presentation
·Business and people management skills
·Computer literacy to enable efficient use of technology, Point of Sale system, e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software
·Meticulous attention to detail
·Ability to communicate effectively with farmers, tenants, management and staff
·Ability to respond effectively to changing demands
·‘C’ Class driver license
·Happy personality, reliable and strong work ethics.
Thesuccessful applicant will be honest, reliable, mature minded, a strong teamplayer
and be able to work autonomously when required.
Remuneration will be in line with experience, with a bonus for good performance.
