ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Consolidated Plant Services works with tier one construction contractors, hire companies and subcontractors across the industry to ensure effective, compliant and reliable plant and equipment mobilisation and maintenance. We are currently the only independent on-boarding plant inspection company in Australia, actively involved in the changes to and roll out of standards. We facilitate a streamlined transition between plant procurement and operation by pre-approving equipment before it gets to site, ultimately mitigating the risk of mobilising non-compliant plant and plant failure onsite. CPS is currently working on a number of major infrastructure projects including the Level Crossing Removal Program and West Gate Tunnel Project, and working with key plant hire companies in managing their maintenance and compliance. ABOUT THE ROLE
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated technician that is looking to take their knowledge and skillset to the next level. CPS will assist you in your professional development towards having exceptional industry knowledge and problem-solving skills. Based in Brighton, you will be working with a small, collaborative, results-focused team of highly experienced and talented mechanical consultants, carrying out inspections and minor repairs on plant and equipment, and servicing the needs of our customer base on various sites throughout Melbourne and the broader Victorian metropolitan region.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out inspections and minor repairs on civil construction plant and equipment
- To undertake the day-to-day tasks associated with managing of plant and equipment inspections (eg. scheduling inspections, documentation)
- Manage and plan maintenance for projects and other customers (maintenance forecasting)
- Advise and help strategise plant maintenance/compliance with customers
- Carry out plant risk assessments (and other assessments of plant)

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Heavy duty mechanic trade qualified (preference will be given to mechanics with Ex-OEM experience and those who live locally)
- Minimum three years post-trade experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Competent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Sound knowledge of civil construction equipment
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Ability to self-manage and prioritise workload
- Enthusiasm towards professional development
- Ability to continually learn and develop inspection procedures and processes
- Places high value on building strong, professional relationships
- HR license desirable
- Be available for travel throughout Victoria
