Cashier

ADHC Parramatta, Sydney

Job Description

About us

The Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) directly supports approximately 800,000 people every year and reaches a further million people through local community-based programs.

Hunter Residences provides supported accommodation for people who have an intellectual and/or physical disability at three supported accommodation sites – Stockton Centre, located at Stockton a suburb of Newcastle NSW, Kanangra Centre, located on the grounds of Morisset Hospital at Morisset NSW, and Tomaree Lodge, located at Shoal Bay NSW.

Our vision is to empower all people to live fulfilling lives and achieve their potential in inclusive communities. We collaborate with government, non-government and community partners to work with children, adults, families and communities to improve lives and realise potential, with a focus on breaking, rather than managing, disadvantage.

About the role

The Cashier is the custodian of and responsible for the payment of client funds and petty cash from the Centre’s cash floats. The position holder co-ordinates the receipting and banking for Departmental accounts operating within Hunter Residences and is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation and processing of supporting documentation for accounts payable and receivable.

We are recruiting to fill an ongoing full-time role from this advertisement and plan to create a recruitment pool from which vacancies will be filled over the next (12) months, in accordance with the Government Sector Employment Act 2013.

The implementation of the NDIS is a generational change to the provision of disability services. It is changing the way that disability supports are provided and the NSW Government is transferring services to the non-government sector. If you are successful in obtaining a role that either directly provides or is indirectly related to the provision of disability services, your employment may later transfer to the non-government sector.

Sound numeracy and computer skills including the ability to operate and accurately maintain computerised database/spreadsheet
