A busy remote roadhouse in the NT requires an experienced short order cook/hospitality all-rounder to join their team until September 2019. This position requires the successful applicant to be able to demonstrate a high level of versatility within the role, duties include but are not limited to :
- Cooking short order meals in the kitchen
- Working in the hotel bar during evenings
- Housekeeping and laundry duty
- Serving customers at the front counter and using the till to take payments
Cooking skills are essential and we require an experienced cook who is able to use a grill and fryer competently. Meals served include chicken parmis, fish and chips, burgers, pastas, steaks, etc.
Applicants need to be able to speak excellent English, have a strong hospitality background and a friendly personality.
Wages are $24.34, Mon – Fri with penalty rates paid at weekends. Work will be 6 – 7 days a week, 5 – 7 hours/day.
Meals and accommodation are provided onsite for $180 per week. There are lots of beautiful places to hike around the area, so this is a great spot for people who love the outdoors and would like to experience the remote Northern Territory.
The ability to work independently in a remote environment needs to be considered before applying for this role.
This position will count for visa days for those on a 462 visa.
