Melbourne Bayside location
Starting End of July start of August
We’re a family of four mum and dad and our two girls ( 8) and (6).
We’re an experienced host family and are looking for our next Au Pair to welcome into our family. We’ve hosted Au Pairs from Germany, Netherlands, Estonia, Columbia & Brazil so far and have loved having a big sister as part of our family.
It’s been a fantastic experience for our family hosting Au Pairs over the last 2 years and we have learnt something new with each new Au Pair and have really enjoyed going on trips and learning about a new culture.
Our past Au Pairs are happy to tell you about us too.
We hope to hear from you soon, come stay with us in beautiful Melbourne!
We live close to the beach in a safe and family friendly Melbourne suburb called Cheltenham. Our home is close to parks, shops and public transport. We’re about 35 minutes by train to the Melbourne city centre and it’s only a short ten minute walk to the closest train station or you can catch the bus from the end of our street.
Our girls go to school Monday to Friday and Parents work full time. On weekends we like to take the kids to the park, walk with our dog, spend time with friends and time in our garden. We also love cooking and eating a local cafes and restaurants. Have you heard Melbourne has the best coffee!!
Dad teaches kids and adults Karate and has his own martial arts school. Mum is a Human Resources leader and works for one of the world’s largest international aid and development organisations World Vision. Dad travels a bit with his karate and Mum loves doing a bit of yoga, learning about health and nutrition and has a small essentials oils business.
We also love to take holidays, long weekends and longer trips away, we’d love you to join us or use the time for your own Australian adventures.
Our Au Pair will help the girls get ready in the mornings, take them to school and then collect them from school in the afternoon and look after them until we get home from work. Then help with dinner and getting the kids ready for bed.
Some help with light housework is required for example keeping the kitchen clean, tidying up after the children, doing the children’s laundry.
NO cleaning required as we have a house cleaner each week.
You will need to have an international driver licence and be an experienced and confident driver who is able to drive a manual. We will provide you with a nice car, sporty black ford focus, to drive the kids to school and after school activities and you can use the car for local trips during the day too and on weekends.
You’ll also need to like animals as we have a dog and two cats that come inside.
Most of all you’ll need to love taking care of and spending time with kids, be organised, clean and tidy, reliable and trustworthy. We eat fresh, healthy food with limited sugar, junk food and no soft drink in the house so this would need to work for you too.
You’ll have you own room, bathroom, full board including WIFI and Netflix, access to our car with petrol and we’ll also provide a generous weekly payment.
Your hours will be 7.00am to 10.00am and 3.30pm to 7.30pm Monday to Thursday and Friday mornings. You will have Friday after school drop off to Sunday as free time to explore Australia or for additional work or to hang out with our family. We’d love to take you on some day trips to see Melbourne on the weekends.
You’ll be treated as an adult in our home and a member of our family. You’ll find us a respectful, caring and loving family and easy to get along with. It’s really important that you are mature, independent and know how to work as a team to help keep our home running smoothly.
We’ve formed long term relationships with most of our past Au Pairs and still keep in touch with them and miss having them as part of our family.
