About the Business:

Pacific Logging Group is an expanding logging business built on a reputation of paddock to factory direct native sawlog sourcing and logging. The key to this growth has been investing in competent operators and managers into the future.

Experienced Mechanical Harvesting Operator:

We are currently seeking an experienced machinery operator with energy and desire to grow with our native forest logging operations in Central and Western Queensland.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Operations:
1) Carry out mechanical harvesting in accordance with the harvesting implementation plan, to cut, snig, load, and fulfil other operational pre-requisites;
2) Operate in compliance with harvesting Code of Practice and Workplace Health & Safety;
3) Constantly uphold company values and represent the interest of the business – maximize the production run rate for given quality spec at highest operational efficiency and lowest costs;
4) Work without supervision and be a team player;

Machinery:
5) Operate log feller and processor, skidder/forwarder, loader/excavator, following best practice operating procedures;
6) Make ready required tools, sufficient consumables and other logistical needs;
7) Responsible for machine availability through daily pre-start, post work, and other maintenance procedure;
8) Prompt and effective response to mechanical faults including initial diagnosis;
9) Notify and articulate mechanical faults and operational issues;
10) Take actions following instruction from mechanical specialist over the phone;

Communication:
11) Effectively and positively engage property owner for operational efficiency;
12) Liaise with haulage subcontractor for transport;
13) Liaise with other individuals within and outside of the business as required, for the planning, reporting, coordinating, and clarification, etc.;
14) Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as requested by the business from time to time.

Conditions:
a) You will need to use your own 4WD vehicle for all travels;
b) You will be responsible for registration, insurance and maintenance of your vehicle and repairs in the event of damage however we will reimburse you for the tyre repairs in the event of puncture;
c) We will supply diesel fuel at the sites and provide suitable accommodation;
d) You will need to read in full the documentation of Workplace & Health Safety, Code of Practice, and Operational Procedures, etc., and sign off the Induction form.
e) There is limited mobile coverage at the worksite, your mobile phone has to be on Telstra service.
