The position is an opportunity for an ambitious, capable manager looking to rapidly gain management experience and progress their career in the hospitality industry.
The Caretaker’s role is to form part of the Management team and manage all areas of the operation.
Innisfail Budget Backpackers is a Backpacker Working Hostel, providing accommodation and assistance for backpackers to find paid work, often to gain their 2nd year Australian working visa. The hostel has an approximate capacity of 125 tenants spread over multiple sites.
·Daily management responsibilities to ensure profitable and smooth operation
·Supervision of staff and tenants
·Managing bookings, work schedules and worker transport
·Manage inventory and equipment
·Manage customer (farm employers) requirements
Key skills required:
The Caretaker must have experience in front desk, customer service and be able to take a strategic overview and plan ahead to maximise customer satisfaction and operational efficiency in a dynamic environment
·Capable of managing difficult situations and set an example for staff to deliver a high standard of service and presentation
·Business and people management skills
·Computer literacy to enable efficient use of technology, Office, e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software
·Meticulous attention to detail
·Ability to communicate effectively with farmers, tenants, management and staff
·Ability to respond effectively to changing demands
·Happy personality, reliable and strong work ethics.
- Preferably second language (German or Dutch)
