Casual Dairy Farm Milker / Farm Livestock Hand - Level 1 / 3
600 Cow Spring Calving Dairy Farm
36 Swing Over Herringbone Shed with Auto Cup Removers,
good infrastructure with new and well-maintained equipment.
Duties to include, however not limited to:
Assist with milking
Assist with calving cows
Assist with feeding calves
Assist with spraying weeds
Assist with temporary fencing
Assist with yarding cows and young stock
Assist with general farm / property maintenance and repairs
Attributes to include, however not limited to:
Be fit, honest & reliable
Good time management skills
Have good communication skills
Be willing to learn & show initiative
Be able to work independently & in a team environment
Ability to work under brief moments of pressure
Be willing to work flexible hours
NO accommodation available with this position, however the farm is located 15 min from our local town and less than 10 min from our local village, where long & short-term arrangements can be made at competitive rates.
12 – 38 hours per week to be discussed and agreed
Reasonable additional hours are also available
Working with a rotating roster with scheduled days off.
Rates as per Pastoral Award 2010 and subject to experience and skill set
Normal time, overtime rates, full time, superannuation, sick leave, public holidays, annual leave and payed into bank account with payslip emailed fortnightly.
$25 - $35 per hour all inclusive.
Working on split shifts – for example
04.00 – 08.00
13.30 – 17.30
07.00 – 11.00
14.00 – 18.00
Must be able to provide / complete
Pre-Employment Interview & Medical
On Going Drug & Alcohol Testing
Police Clearance Certification
Drivers Licence and your own reliable transport
Ideally, this position would suit someone based locally and lead to full time employment with a more involved role
subject to the applicant.
However, this job could be adapted, seasonally with a stay of 6 months preferred, to suit 417 or 462 visa holders with fluent English skills. Covered and enclosed camp site available with 2nd Year visa signed off. Single person or couple traveling together backpackers welcome to apply.
Experience with grassland farming from Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and UK would be an advantage.
