Fowles Wine is an established and growing family owned winery, located in the dramatic landscape of the Strathbogie Ranges. Our Cellar Door and Restaurant is located just off the Hume Freeway in Avenel, Victoria, and has been awarded ‘Hall of Fame’ status by the Victorian Tourism Awards.

Fowles Wine has been internationally acknowledged for crafting some of Australia’s finest cool climate wines, winning many of Australia’s most prestigious wine medals and trophies as well as being named as one of internationally renowned Wine Spectator’s “Wineries to Watch”.

Having recently opened a brand-new restaurant, the Fowles Wine team are on the look-out for a qualified chef to support the expended operations and increased demand. With a 200+ seat restaurant, on site function space, outdoor feasting area, wine and appetisers bar and Farm Store selling home-made take-home gourmet meals and preserves, Fowles Wine are upping the ante on regional food and wine.

The Role:
The Qualified Chef will be a key staff member in the kitchen operations. The role will require the successful candidate to be involved in ala cart breakfast and lunch services, functions and produce production for the Farm Store, along with contributing ideas to the daily specials and menu development. The operational hours are 9am-5pm.
The successful applicant will be self-driven, flexible and able to adapt to the demands of the operations. This role is full time, 5 days per week.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Have completed a Chefs apprenticeship
• Availability to work around a 7-day roster including some night shifts, weekends and public holidays
• Be passionate about food and industry trends
• Demonstrate a professional, upbeat and friendly personality
• Ensure that the general presentation and hygiene of the site is maintained
• Must be an effective team player and willing to work within a collaborative team environment

Position Requirements
• Hold a valid driver’s license
• Have completed a chef’s apprenticeship
• Weekend availability is essential
• Physically fit and able to lift cases of wine
• Ability to multi-task with constant interruptions
• Presentable and professional
