Cost Accountant

Canvas 3 Queensland, Queensland

2nd Year Visa Eligible

Job Description

- High profile community-controlled health organisation
- Short-term contract
- Accommodation and flights are provided

A temporary contract opportunity has become available working with the extended Canvas 3 team in the North West region of Mt Isa within a successful multi-site Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation.

As part of an ongoing organisational transformation process, we have identified the need for a Project Cost Accountant to join the Gidgee team on a short-term contract of up to 8 weeks duration. The successful candidate will work closely with the Canvas 3 Change Manager on-site to critically analyse current financial data and relevant costs centres and attend to any remedial work needed.

Although the finance function is centralised in the Mt Isa head office, Gidgee’s multi-site reach will require the successful candidate to work with the remote offices to capture required information as needed.

Ideal attributes and expertise of interested applicants will include:

Minimum of 2 years Cost Accountant experience, including payroll and ERP management
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
Computer literacy – strong excel and Microsoft office skills
Ability to prepare daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports
As Gidgee draws upon a variety of funding sources and revenue-generating activity, an understanding of grants and different funding models within the community-based sector, would be highly regarded.

This role will suit an energetic self-starter with demonstrated initiative, and an ability to work within a moving project environment.

For a further discussion with regard to this opportunity, please contact Canvas 3 Project Co-ordinator, Jess Evans on [email address removed] or ph.0414 005 869.
