Job Description

We are a small family run Thoroughbred breeding stud (about 100+ horses) in southern QLD. We need a person or couple that are experienced stable hands for the foaling / breeding season, starting now up for 3 months or longer. These racing horses have very limited education and it will not be safe for beginners. We are also looking for a qualified welder/ welding fabricator - look for our other ad.

Duties:
•Feeding paddock horses.
•Feeding stabled horses.
•Stable cleaning.
•Handling horses for farrier.
•working with the vet for reproduction monitoring.
•Putting horses on/ off walker & washing down.
•General farm duties (tractor/ building/ fencing).
There is not riding required for this position.

Looking for someone with all of the following:
•Horse / young horse experience.
•Stable experience.
•Hardworking and safe working.
•Good fitness.
•Your own transport.
•Happy personality.

Job is full-time ,11 days a fortnight, days off on roster with other staff. There is your own on-farm accommodation available, one bedroom cabin with kitchen and bathroom (shared laundry), must have a car/ transport. Award wage and suitable work for 2nd/ 3rd year visa, if required.
