Job Description
Our farm is a small family owned farm seeking the employment of a good farm hand. Situated on 5K acres of lush green cattle country with rolling green hills and steep bush country at the base of the Gibraltar range Coombadjha NSW. Southern Sky farms is a true Australian paradise following a spring fed creek running 8 km through the property, and the mighty Mann River just around the corner. The farm primarily runs cattle and some small crops, but is trying to become a self sufficient farm with an orchard and additional veggie garden.
Southern Sky Farms is in need of an experienced farm hand to assist in the planting and irrigation set up of a mixed orchard, Apples, Citrus, Avocados, Mangoes. We are 50% Complete and just need that extra push through summer to get the job done. We also require farm hands to continue to help us with general duties and ongoing maintenance.
Manual labour is required. Must be experienced, fit and energetic. Must love the outdoors and be ok to work hard in the sun and willing to swim in the pristine creek everyday at lunch time!!
Some machinery operation to be done, tractor work and excavation work also for those with experience.
The pay Rate is 25$ per hour and we do 40 - 50 hrs per week. Accommodation is free and top notch. The pay rate is reflective of the free accomodation.
We have 2 farmhand positions available.
Tasks include:
Planting trees in a new orchard
Digging and raking soil
Running pipe work for irrigation
Operating tractor rotary hoe
Operating excavator for trenching in pipe
Heavy lifting
Weeding/ weed spraying
General farm hand duties such as ground maintenance

We are an organic focused farm at the base of the Gibraltar Ranges, running cattle on lush green mountain pastures.
We are currently growing Australia’s largest crop of organic Turmeric. We are currently planting organic apple, citrus, avocado and mangoes orchards. We have a communal veggie garden and beautiful horses and farm lands for exploring and enjoying.
We are also building containers into cabins to add to our facilities.
We have first class facilities for all guests and staff, with a large amenity block and cabins and caravans for accomodation. We have a Large communal deck and a huge communal kitchen.
Our farm runs along kilometres of natural creeks fed by hundreds of fresh pure water springs that leads into the mighty man river.
