Operations Manager

We are on the lookout for a new Operations Manager at the Victoria Hotel, Ouyen with the position available immediately. The Victoria Hotel is a traditional country pub located 100km south of Mildura in the heart of the Mallee. The hotel consists of bar, dining, and gaming areas with accommodation also available on site. Working closely with the venue manager and hotel owners, and overseeing front and back of house staff, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the hotel, including bar, gaming areas and restaurant. Experience in the hospitality industry is essential, with strong social skills, a friendly and approachable demeanour, a great work ethic with managerial experience preferred. The role is a full-time 38hr per week position that includes day, night, and weekend shifts. RSA and RSG are essential as well as a Driver’s Licence and own transport.

Qualifications & experience

- Previous hospitality experience
- Previous managerial experience preferably within the hospitality field
- Social and relationship management skills are essential
- Staff management and rostering experience
- Knowledge of stock control and purchasing/ordering experience
- Problem-solving ability to resolve issues as and when they arise
- Strong written and oral communication skills for managing business administration with the ability to work independently and confidently to make your own decisions
- Essential – Australian Driver’s Licence
- Essential - Responsible Service of Gambling (RSG)
- Essential - Responsible Serving of Alcohol (RSA)

Tasks & responsibilities

- Preparation of roster and staffing schedules
- Ordering and/or overseeing that the beverage and food stock are appropriate to sales levels
- Cash handling and POS Reporting
- Engaging with customers to arrange meal bookings and functions
- Working with ownership to organise invoice and bill payments
- Oversee cleanliness of hotel and restaurant
- Delivering high level customer service
