About the Business:

Kilcowera Station operates as a station stay, a large organically run cattle property, and most recently, hosting an operating Wagyu cattle station. The accommodation options at Kilcowera include our Shearers Quarters, bush camping as well as powered and unpowered sites. In 2021 Kilcowera has welcomed new owners who have great passion and experience in Australian agriculture and the Australian landscape.


Location:

Kilcowera Station is located 1200 kilometres west of Brisbane on the Dowling Track, halfway between Hungerford and Thargomindah. The station is about 90 kilometres south of Thargomindah on the well maintained, mainly gravel Thargomindah – Hungerford Road.


The Opportunity:

This position will see you being the host to the many travellers who choose to enjoy the wonder of the Australian Outback at Kilcowera Station.

You will utilise your domestic skills to ensure that the accommodations and amenities are well maintained, and all visitors are well looked after. Kilcowera will become your home, and so you will treat the house as your home and the guests as your guests.

General tasks will be Cooking, Cleaning, Gardening, Domestic work.


Tasks:

- Hygienic cleaning of the Kitchen, Cold Room, Dining Room, Accommodation, Bathrooms.
- Preparing rooms
- Striping, washing and remaking the beds.
- Routine Maintenance as required
- Ensure nutritious meals are provided to guests as requested
- Meal planning and stores planning
- Maintain adequate supplies such as groceries
- Maintain kitchen utensils in good order
- Will be required to travel to pick up from stores
- Mow and water lawn
- Maintain gardens (pruning, weeding, mulching, watering, spraying)
- Use of garden chemicals


Requirements:

- Must currently live in Australia
- Valid Driver’s licence
- Previous experience in similar role would be an advantage
- Experience in a kitchen role, providing meals to schedule and understanding dietary nutrition and food hygiene.
- Organisation Skills
- Prepared to live and work in a remote location.
