Remote Area Pub Chef/cook

Head Chef/Cook Cape York Queensland

We are seeking an experienced Head Chef/Cook for our busy pub located in the far northern Queensland town of Coen, Cape York.
This remote but very busy seasonal pub provides motel accommodation, dongas and campgrounds, along with a breakfast, lunch and dinner menu and lively bar. The property has 7 staff and 6 children living and working on site.

Package:
Casual Role – Seasonal (Peak season begins end of April through to Late October/November)
$30.00 per hour – Flat rate
roster and hours agreed on employment.
+ 9.5% Super
FREE Accommodation & Meals *Donga style accommodation

Duties:
Day to day management of the kitchen, stock control and stock ordering
Supervision and delegation duties of kitchen staff
Cooking of exceptional pub style meals, menu planning
Take pride in the presentation of food being served
Maintain a clean kitchen
Working a variety of shifts
The ability to work flexibly and within a team

Other

The successful candidate must be able to handle the overall management of the kitchen and kitchen staff. The remote location presents potential produce delivery issues so we will need someone happy to think on their feet and bring solutions not problems.
