We run a mixed cropping farm near Burren Junction, North West NSW. This year, we have approx. 20,000 hectares sown of wheat, chickpeas and barley. We run our own harvest team with 10 headers and 6 chaser bins. Our harvest team will consist of 25 – 30 people as well as a external fleet of trucks to transport the crop between the farm and the local Graincorp silos. We are now taking applications for a November start - would suit people who have finished their first harvest role out West or close to Queensland border and are looking for their next harvest role. Positions available from 10th November.
Why do we recruit halfway through harvest? For a number of reasons:
We have some staff who can only work 3/4 weeks and will leave before harvest is finished.
Harvest is not for everyone! Not everyone who starts a grain harvest will finish so we have to recruit during harvest to replace a small number of staff who will leave midway through.
Fatigue management - we employ additional machinery operators to try and ensure that we can fulfill our WHS obligations and manage fatigue as harvest rolls on.
