Sunny Ridge is a privately owned agriculture business growing strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries across multiple locations in Victoria and Queensland. Partnering with industry leaders and major customer groups, Sunny Ridge is one of the market leaders within the dynamic agricultural industry.
We are currently seeking a Harvest Manager in Seville, Victoria who will be responsible for overseeing the harvest of three crops - Raspberry, Strawberry and Blueberry.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Plan, manage and coordinate the day-to-day harvest operations across all berry categories.
Motivate, organise and build capability within the harvest teams.
Lead induction and training on best practices regarding harvest techniques, food hygiene and health and safety.
Ensure field hygiene and the customer’s specifications are front of mind throughout the harvest process.
Support the Operations Manager with an accurate view on labour and yield forecasts.
Drive picking efficiencies and productivity within the teams and in conjunction with the Operations Manager, calculate and regularly assess picking rates (piece rates).
Liaise with the packing shed, quality controllers and growers on any aspects regarding fruit quality etc.
To be considered for this vacancy you must possess the following skills:
Direct experience in agricultural management and/or an educational background in agriculture/horticulture is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to work with and help supervise employees with a wide range of skills sets, educational levels and personalities.
Excellent planning and organisational skills are required, as well as the ability and desire to be a team player.
Ability to navigate through difficult, confrontational situations with grace and respect, whilst respecting cultures and individuals whose native languages are not English.
Capability to troubleshoot small and big issues effectively and timely
Strong computer and administrative skills.
Ability to forecast and communicate crop yields with internal and external stakeholders.
Actively participate and drive workforce planning.
Solid computer proficiency and ability to work with company software and programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
Positive attitude, a self-motivator and strong work ethic.
Current drivers license and other relevant qualifications/licences.
Comfortable to work in all weather elements/ farm environment.
This is a permanent ongoing role within the Company. The hours will vary given the seasonality of the role, and there will be times throughout the harvest season where there will the requirement to work overtime.
