Job Description

Volunteer Horse_person Required ??
We are passionate about Arabian horses. Our hobby is to complete in endurance events and we love to share our hobby with other liked minded people.
Capable horse riders will enjoy the opportunity to experience Australian life in peaceful bush lands, viewing Australian wildlife such as goannas, echidnas, kookaburras, kangaroos, koalas ... We have lots of horses available for your adventures on our miles and miles of tracks. We have four new foals recently born.
If you like cities and lots of people, then this is not for you. If you love nature and quiet then you are in the right place!
If you have ever wanted to experience life on a real Aussie farm and ride a horse into the sunset, then this is for you! You can learn all about the equine discipline - endurance.
We not looking for a person to work a full time paid position. More someone who wants to experience our way of life and is prepared to fill in when I don’t have enough arms or time. This position would suit a backpacker/volunteer who was interested in a cultural exchange.
Position available NOW!
We need help on the farm. Nothing very strenuous ... just lending a hand .... opening gates so the tractor can pass through, helping to move horses or cattle about, fixing fences, cleaning water troughs, feeding horses, feeding the cat, assisting with preparing the evening meal, setting the table, maybe do a load of washing and help to keep the house clean. Most afternoons are spent with the horses:- going out for a ride as the sun sets.
In exchange you will be treated as one of the family. You can stay "free" in our home in your own bedroom; with laundry, unlimited internet and meals supplied. If we go somewhere, you are welcome to come along as well for the experience.
Our life revolves around our horses and travelling to endurance events. We are hoping that you might like to get involved and experience this way of life and the joys it can bring into one’s life.
With unlimited WFI, there is the opportunity to surf the net, stream a movie [NETFLIX], or catch up with family on face book. There is time to chill and watch the beautiful sunsets or gaze at the milky way at night.
Copeton Dam is just 10km up the road and is a popular spot to fish.
Inverell is also just 10km up the road, and offers excellent Thia and Chinese dinning opportunities. We typically eat out about once per month. Inverell also has a cinema, ten-pin bowling alley, archery and a pistol range.
Inverell has an airport and a bus/train service link. We are happy to pick you up/drop you off. Welcome to stay as along time.
Our last volunteer stayed close to two years and has now secured full time employment with sponsorship due to the experience she gained while staying with us.
