Farm Hand

Farm hand required for a cattle stud outside Innisfail in FNQ (closest large centre is Cairns but our nearest town is Innisfail).

We are looking for a single NON-SMOKING female to work on our farms with us, mostly supervised work but you may be required to do unsupervised work as well. Job will entail assistance with general farm duties such as fencing, weed control, yard building, limited cattle work (such as operating a gate etc), gardening at the homestead and some help around the house as needed such as household cleaning, laundry and general household duties. Household work will include feeding and watering domestic animals including dogs, ducks, horses etc.

You will be provided with all meals and accommodation and will be expected to help with meal preparations and clean up which will not be included as work hours.

Working hours will be Monday to Friday with an expectation of 7 hours worked per day which would not include meal breaks like lunch and morning tea etc. Due to the heat it is usually helpful to start early, rest up at lunch and then do more in the afternoon when it cools down so your working day will be broken up.

Based on a working day of 7 hours work at $20 per hour, pay will be $700 per week before tax. Week ends will be your own unless prior arrangements are made. Days can be swapped if you want but the hourly rate remains unchanged.

References are required. Position is available from the 10th January and at this stage we are looking at 4 weeks work but this could be extended for the right candidate.
