For backpackers and value travellers, lodge-style accommodation is available with either shared or private rooms and shared amenities. Of course, the resort also provides for caravanners and campers enjoying the wonders of the Red Centre and Top End.
Kings Canyon Resort has a large F&B component with several restaurants and bar. Catering to a diverse range of tastes from higher-end dining to bistro style favourites and BBQ, the emphasis on fresh, local ingredients and an Aussie take on hearty favourites.
We are commencing recruitment for our Sous Chef, Chef de Partie, Commis Chef, Demi Chef and Cook roles for the Kings Canyon Resort 2022 season. In these roles you will be responsible for providing an efficient and cost-effective food service, with the smooth day-to-day operation in one of our three Commercial Kitchens, consisting of a rotating roster over breakfast, lunch & dinner, with consistent superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities. You will work in a tight knit team to produce an unforgettable dining experience.
In your role will ensure the kitchen complies with sanitation regulations and safety standards while controlling and directing food preparation. You will foster a climate of cooperation and respect within the team while maintaining consistent superior guest focus at the forefront of all activities. You will cook dishes that will delight our customers with their taste and timely delivery. You will also liaise with front of house staff to ensure smooth and efficient delivery of daily services.
Skills & Experience:
Previous experience and cooking in a similar environment as Jnr Sous Chef or Chef De Partie
Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to work within a team and autonomously
Ability to prep and organise ahead
Current First Aid Certificate is highly desirable
HACCP experience essential, with a high emphasis on food hygiene
Current Drivers Licence.
It is preferable that you possess either a Certificate 3 or 4 in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) and must have a least 3 years experience in commercial kitchens post qualification.
The salary range will be between $55,000 - $80,000 per year plus super depending on experience and role.
