Marla Travellers’ Rest is a sprawling roadhouse, hotel/motel, restaurant, service station, supermarket and much more – all in one place. Located on the Stuart Highway since 1982, it provides a comprehensive range of facilities for travellers and locals alike.

We are looking for an experienced, hands on Yardie to work closely with our Maintenance Manager. You will be responsible for the general maintenance of our large grounds which will include:

- Planting/pruning of shrubs, trees, etc
- Removing leaves and dirt from designated areas such as roofs, box gutters, walkways, and entryways as required.
- Raking leaves and mowing lawns
- Watering trees, shrubs, and lawns and performing irrigation activities.
- Spraying for weeds using unrestricted chemicals as required.
- Operating large power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance
and landscaping activities.
- Operating utility vehicle, and box trailer for hauling purposes and for rubbish and debris removal.

To be successful for this role, you will have:

• Previous experience in grounds keeping/repairs and maintenance.
• Experience using hand tools, electrical power tools and equipment.
• Excellent organisational, time management & customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• High level of initiative and problem solving ability.
• Current Australian Drivers Licence: A HR truck licence is advantageous but not essential.

A Trade Qualification will be highly regarded.

This role will require weekend work.
