MLKA Hospitality Recruitment specialises in remote, live in hospitality roles in remote, regional and outback areas Australia wide.
We are seeking an experienced Chef, located in Longreach in Outback Queensland.
Spend a season living and working in the heart of the outback. This is a beautiful country town with some of the friendliest people you will ever meet. It’s a hive of activity in tourist season with visitors passing through from all over the world. There is plenty to do and see outside of work hours, take a cruise on the Thomson River, visit the Stockmans Hall of Fame, Qantas Founders Museum or relax watching the amazing sunrises and sunsets.
There are plenty of outlets in town for shopping and other great hotels & cafes to dine on days off. Working mostly evenings you will have plenty of down time to enjoy your surrounds.

Seasonal Role until November
Salary Package:
$85,000 salary per annum
Free onsite Accommodation (shared staff house)
The restaurant is open for dinner only 5/6 nights per week (7 in peak season).
Duties:
- Cooking a variety of dishes
- Basic prep duties
- Ordering
- Stock control
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
- Supervision of kitchen staff yet to be employed
- Other duties as required
Ideal Candidate:
- Must have a love of living and working in outback Australia
- Must have a current drivers licence (own transport preferred)
- Have an easy going and friendly approach to guests and work mates
- Looking for an autonomous role and able to treat the venue like your own
- Have a passion for producing quality food and delivering outstanding customer service
- Able to commit for the Season
